RE: Insider selling, I looked into this in a basic way a couple of weeks ago through:

stocksmartpro.com

What I did was to find the most active 50 insider sellers during the last month and add up the total amount of money they got for their sales. Then I did the same separately for the 50 most active insider buyers during the last month. My rough figures came out at a ratio of 15:1 in favor of dollar amount in sales. I thought that was pretty impressive. It was just before Grey Monday, by the way, so the subsequent drop in the market made the information more memorable to me.

I did it again just now after your post and found it only at 2.6:1, but on closer inspection today's figures are distorted by HUGE insider buying in Rhone Poulenc Rorer. When this stock is eliminated from the buyers, the sales to buy ratio is 16:1.

I don't pretend to be able to interpret these raw data, especially since I had never done it before a couple of weeks ago, so I have no historical base to compare these figures with. Maybe it isn't as unusual as it seems to me. Just as an isolated figure, it sounds some alarm bells to me. If anyone has any idea if this particular info has ever been collected, please post info.
