I don't know why you are so defensive about the south? I don't get it? Something there you are especially proud of? Or is it like defending your football team.
I don't defend Alaska. I think we are a bunch of clowns.
All countries and cultures are contrived. I feel no patriotism for anyone but the human species (all people on earth are my brothers and ssisters). We humans are all in this together living on the spaceship earth.
In fact I look forward to a united states of the world. Only way we will survive.
The fact of the matter is, the reason we are in so much trouble is that it has been the southern legislators and their primitive philosophy who have controlled the congress for the last 40 years. And it is their antiquated philosophy that has destroyed our country over that period.
The rich and powerful have used the south to further their fascist goals. To turn our democracy into a plutocracy. And they have the supreme court now and we have Citizens United.
The liberals have had little power over the last 30 years and look at the mess we are in. If you could get past your jingoism and ethnocentrocism and just look at the facts maybe you would see a different picture.
Look at how the south votes! I am judging their votng only. The sorts of things they vote for and against. Rick Perry - good god!!, Haley Barbour, Mitch Maconnell, Tom De lay, Strom thurmond, Jesse Helms, Saxby Chambliss, Jim demint, Jim Inhofe, Eric Cantor, Tom Coburn Kay Baily Hutcheson (lying nasty woman).
Those clowns above never got a single liberal vote.
Look at that crew. Nasty horrible people. Do you see any Bernie Sander's in the south? Show me a few just normal sane and honest southern legislators. There are a few like Clair Mckaskill, but Missour keeps her on a short rope. |
