Why should you upgrade to "56k"? Because with "28.8k" you get about low 20kbps or high teens kbps, with "56k" you get about high 40s to low 50kbps. No one I talked with ever got 56k exactly, it's all marketing. My car has a maximum speed of 180mph, but I never got that high due to various reasons.
