Perfectly agreed. Just showing how you can put multiple spins
on anything.

Compaq wins this one on price, managability features and
video performance. Dell has a better chassis, and faster
memory/CPU/HD throughput/performance. In the corp world,
managability and chassis are king.

No single management software offering today spans the corporate network with non-proprietary technology.

A number of vendors (e.g., Hewlett-Packard and Compaq) provide systems management products which mainly manage their own hardware.
The management packages may or may not be standards-based, but are proprietary to that vendor's hardware. This approach can be
effective in network environments composed mainly of one vendor's hardware. However, in networks with servers and workstations from
different vendors, the use of multiple management tools can be difficult as systems administrators must learn each tool. In addition,
consolidating information from the various tools can be problematic.

All of Dell's offerings are guaranteed to be standards based.
