I really don't think "Ed" would have apologized had he not witnessed the negative reaction to his vitriol. I saw him a few years ago and he was equally contemptuous. I would check from time to time while surfing the channels and never was left without remorse for making the check. In actuality he is no different from the other boobs on MSNBC who ridicule decent people unmercifully, with the exception of his language and course delivery. I applaud his self destruction, but would surely enjoy Maddow, whom I believe to be even more abusive, but uses more acceptable language while calling people stupid and worse.
