Goodness, no, Andrew. Your post was completely pleasant. There was absolutely nothing that I could possibly have taken offense at. Even had I tried.
Actually, I was just being playfully circumspect is all. Once you've been doing this a while, you develop a kind of unspoken language/code or dance if you will.
I will let you in on a secret. It's in rather bad form to allow yourself to be known as a good stock picker. Regardless of just how good or awful you might be. Then, of course, when you do actually allow yourself to make the fatal mistake of actually recommending something, the bottom invariably falls out. Then not only did you lose a bundle, but then you've got several investors ready to lynch you at the slightest provocation.
You seem to be very pleasant. I think we will get along very well, that is, if you are not already put off by my prior post.
But, so help me, I absolutely hate the mere thought of recommending a stock. And if I do at times, break down, I try as best I can "to hide the family shame, deep in the basement."
Stick around. Stay in touch. Don't be shy. Before too long, we'll all start to get to know each other and feel comfortable with each other. Which is about the time we start asking ourselves just what in the hell ever possessed us to stick around THIS long.
Oh, well. It's more fun than T-bills, and less chancey then roulette.
Welcome aboard Andrew.
