Al, ema stands for exponential moving average which apply heavier weights on recent values than past values unlike the simple moving average which use a uniform weighting across all values. I find emas to be more accurate for volatile stocks.

Mikey's table reflects a collection of indicators that we have found to work well over various market conditions. Various people use these indicators in different ways. For instance I use the 5/13 emas as a measure of a stock's momentum and trend integrity. bbs are Bollinger bands and are most applicable for stocks locked in trading ranges, etc.

Discussions were conducted on these tech indicators on the Tech Options thread many, many moons ago. I'll let Mikey continue the discussion.
