Umm, Tim, you are missing a huge piece. Namely, where is the proof that Medicare and Medicaid is more than a minor factor in causing healthcare costs to go up. Even if it does, which there is no evidence that I can find shows that, will making healthcare unaffordable for elders change the situation? I will grant you that making sure elders as a group die a lot earlier than they do now will cut healthcare costs, but that seems pretty harsh. Still, it is a bold move. Euthanasia as a way to solve our debt problem. Granted, it would be passive and not active, but that seems to be splitting hairs... But you love doing that, don't you?
