I can't say as how I regularly watch any of them. I did tune into Olbermann a few times when he started bashing Bush, but I got bored pretty quickly. Now I have seen clips from Maddow on occasion and have been generally impressed.

But, yeah. Neither seems to lie. What passes for distortions for either is along the lines of what they choose to emphasize.

As you note, Rush routinely just makes shit up. Much like some of the posters here, you know who they are. I remember one time when he was railing against raising the minimum wage. Claiming that it was never intended to be a living wage. Now granted, that exact language was not in the bill, but if you research the discussion at the time, it is pretty clear that it wasn't created to set the income for teenagers working in burger joints. FDR did repeatedly say the goal was to set a living wage, both before the bill was passed and afterwards. Given that most families were single-earner at that time, it was a pretty strong statement.

Senator Kyl gave their game away when, after making the claim on the Senate floor that Planned Parenthood spent over 90% of their time doing abortions, defended the statement with the excuse that it wasn't intended to be a factual statement.

Which pretty much sums up the Right. They will say or do anything to get and maintain power. Reality and facts are secondary to their goals...
