I predicted the first iPhone would be a disaster without 3G, but I was wrong. It did pretty well for a $400-600 phone.

As for your pretty chart, yes, the iPhone 3G was a much better device, and yes, 3G was one of the many reasons why.

My original point was that adding 3G would not have been sufficient to have make the Nokia Communicator a commercial success. Furthermore, that 3G wasn't even necessary to make the iPhone a commercial success. Do you disagree with either or both of those statements?
