No, I don't. Remember the death panels? Or "give grandma two pain pills and send her home"? Or unplugging grandma? Not to mention them campaigning on how the Democrats wanted to make massive cuts to Medicare in the 2010 elections?

The term "death panel" was not an unfair characterization. When you have government determining who will and will not get treatment based on QALY, it is highly suggestive of a "death panel". For independent analyses to be evaluated based on QALY is one thing; for treatment to be withheld from older patients based on it is something entirely different, and roughly equivalent to something one might refer to as a "death panel".

"Have you heard about the ad that has grandma being pushed over a cliff? That wasn't produced by the right."

No I haven't. I guess the Democrats have decided to adopt Republican tactics. Sort of sad, but I can understand why they did it.

Besides, it does pretty accurately describe CouponCare.

Hilarious. Here you are, criticizing mild attempts by the Republicans to characterize liberal policy in an unfavorable light, and in the next paragraph supporting one of the most repugnant political advertisements the D's have ever created.
