Culture is a very bad thing. Very detrimental to a country. See Iran a country with dreams of restoring a glory written in books about 3.500 years ago.

Culture must be dealt upon ruthlessly! It has caused great suffering for mankind! In the hands of the nation-state culture can do real damage.

I was telling a Chinese here:
If you to succeed here you need to bring along Portuguese and Brazilians to manage Chinese operations in Angola. Americans and Europeans do that all over the world.

He said it will not happen. He continued: It has to do with the Chinese culture. See, we have a 5.000-year old culture.
It never mixed. It influenced others. Never influenced by outsiders.
We went o Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and others adopted our ways. We did not adapted to the local cultures.

I though by myself -not contradicting him- these guys are in for a Japan fate.

What is a Japan fate?
These guys if they had given up their culture of insignificant tribal country of rice planters for greatness they would not be returning to the insignificance they came from.

Nation-state loves to give this spurious sense to their populaces. It served them well when they needed to tell them to kill their neighbors. Not anymore.

Once I told the Chinese Japanese came from Korea. He said No. Japanese came from China.

Seeing the way Japan is going, it must have come from China.
