also CXO,not holding for now,

The Colorado geological team now recognizes
the significance of those results
in that geological setting: The Oro property
covers an area that is conducive for
Carlin-type gold deposits. The Carlin
Trend in Nevada, first recognized in the
1960s, has propelled that state to the top
ranks of gold producing regions.
In essence, Carlin-style gold deposits are
characterized by low-grade, finely disseminated
gold values in carbonaceous
sedimentary rocks. While low grade, the
very large areal extent of that type of
deposit has created numerous multimillion
ounce gold deposits in the Carlin
Trend.
Atac (ATC-TSXV) made several Carlinstyle
discoveries on its Rau property,
located 120 kilometers north of Colorado's
Oro project. The Rau discoveries
have propelled Atac to a valuation in
excess of $600 million, even before the
first resource estimate.
Colorado will require a great deal more
work to demonstrate whether its Oro
property does indeed host significant
Carlin-style gold deposits. This summer
will see further surface sampling as well
as trenching. If the early results support
the geological model, the company intends
to drill.
Colorado is a new company with limited
investor recognition. Growing awareness
of its high powered management team
and the enormous potential of its Yukon
projects should translate into near term
gains in value, especially with so much
investor focus on the Yukon. Positive
results from the upcoming field work
could further propel the value. The historic
work on the Oro property, together
with the regional knowledge gained by
Atac and others, gives Colorado an excellent
starting position for a high potential
exploration project.
