Google doesn't require you to use their app store; your comparison is not valid. I was curious, didn't you already knew that, also?

But fundamentally, I agree with this point; I would not purchase a PC where the manufacturer controlled what software I was allowed to install, and took a cut of the profits, as Apple does.

Contrary to Cupertino marketing magic, the iPad is a PC. Its just a really bad one in that it that lacks the ability to produce content, and has quite abysmal peripheral support.
