I have a feeling this is not going to be the best quarter. Summer doldrums, late iPhone, Japan disaster etc.

Sigh, because I'd really like to sell out on a high note right now but I think I'll have to wait until fall or winter when Apple will roar (Lion, he he pun!) again. Cross fingers and knock on wood the larger market doesn't dive.

But I think patience. Apple is Apple, they think strategically rather than tactically and so far it's paid off well, as opposed to the johnny come lately Pad manufacturers who all believed all you need is to get some hardware out there. They found out. It's a tough new world out there.

Apple, I feel, will zip up their expanding ecosystem with the new OSs and the cloud and the new phone soon. I expect as per usual confusion will reign after the conference as people try to sort out Apple's strategy.

Apple as per usual will have thought out the cloud and will offer only what they think is prudent, entirely useful and they will implement it better than anyone else.

The nay sayers will complain that all sorts of useless, poorly implemented stuff is available from an "open" cloud elsewhere and that Apple is doomed. Other manufacturers will rush into competing with Apple rather than thinking it through in their own design departments and offering something unique and creative.

Apple will continue to add people who have better things to do than futz with hardware and software problems. People who make enough money that $50 or $100 less for a consumer item is no big deal because they make that much per hour and they realize one hour of futzing, over the 2 year life of a product, negates any savings they make buying other products.
