steve - your entire perception of hardware is based on cheap data entry terminals. Some of the other I/S professionals in the world have the responsibility of managing a more diverse set of computing devices, low end desktops, high end desktops, workstations and servers. You WILL see thermal monitoring become a de-facto standard in the near future. If you think it affects response time, your truly clueless. If you think fans don't fail, leading to a catastrophic series of component meltdowns, then you dont manage many systems. VP of I/S. That's funny. I wouldn't last 4 seconds nor would I want too. But that's 4 seconds longer than you would last in engineering<ggg> MEATHEAD
