>>So, it's now all about Twitter, crap snaps, and my docs in your cloud, is it?<<
It's not about docs in the cloud, it's about syncing your docs across devices, using the cloud. That's different, and not the same thing Google does.
I think Lion looks great. Lots of useful new features. Things that will actually make using a computer easier.
Ditto iOS 5. Real, useful improvements. The one thing that people hated the most about iOS before, the notifications system, is now going to be both useful and unobtrusive.
And iCloud will provide the glue that syncs everything up between devices, simply and easily. For free. With no ads. Terrific.
The iTunes Match feature will probably be attractive to a lot of people, but I rip all my CDs in a lossless format. For me, 256kpbs AAC is not an "upgrade." On the other hand, I have no problem hooking up a cable and syncing my iPhone with my Mac. So I can continue doing what I already do.
Now I expect we're going to hear a lot of bullshit from other quarters about how lame all of this stuff is. |
