Austria is a German speaking country .... just like scores of countries speak English, despite different accents.

Danes and Swedes both speak Scandinavian but sometimes can barely understand each other.

I knew that Afghanistan isn't an Arab country. Why didn't Obama? He was a Senator who voted on Afghan war issues.

I studied the ME and didn't know that Afghans did not speak Arabic. Its hardly a major faux pas no matter how hard you all try to gin it up.
