Told you I sent an email to Otto. Here's an amusing verification that I did. Plus an update. If you receive Otto's newsletter you got confirmation that I did indeed send Otto an email or three. In fact I hear I even made Otto's email of the week in the latest IKN Weakness. I am honored. I also hear he saw fit to print my my first comment and question verbatim but did not see fit to post his response in the same honest manner. Instead he toned it down to a kinder, gentler "a couple of swear words" or something to that effect. He then goes on to call me a lying asshole [which though geographically close was not the orifice of choice in his original response to me] when all I did was send him a critical, sarcastic email. Seems he's got a very convenient definition of lying. I'd say my taking a jab at him and asking a sarcastic question or two while irritating wouldn't be lying but I'm pretty sure editing out half of a conversation to make oneself appear in a better light would be lying. Oddly enough our Otto also neglected to print a few other relevant comments and questions I had for him. Seemed best not to "mention the war" while he was on a roll trying to make himself look like a hero I guess. Another thing I hadn't realized until now was that making a critical remark and following it with a sarcastic question makes one a "lying asshole". Hmmm. I thought it simply made one a critical, sarcastic, curious pain in the butt. Not so tho in Otto-land where sarcasm, criticism, and curiosity are the sole possessions of our Otto who is able to dish them out in healthy doses yet is too delicate to stomach them himself. What I also like about our Otto is the pure class and professionalism with which he uses his newsletter to whine about something [besides Dynasty this time thank God] to his paying customers [who I doubt really give a shit] as trivial as a few emails from some random guy who got under his skin. Apparently he says he has my name and address in his hot little threatening hand but has decided I shall remain anonymous unless I continue my "campaign of lies" or, as anyone other than our Otto might call it, "a few uncomfortable questions". I guess, much like any garden variety school yard bully Otto finds the need to back himself with allies who can help protect him from icky things that most normal grown-ups can handle all by themselves. Or maybe it's nothing more than an implied threat for daring to question his Ottoness? I wonder how many of his subscribers figured they'd also paid for a guy to throw hissy fits on their dime? At any rate the internet is an awesome place where many weird and wonderful things can happen isn't it Otto? I thought "Campaign of lies" was a bit over the top really. You've got to love the drama of it though. Sounds like a political biography. Or a tinpot S.A. dictator complaining about the media. Hopefully if he really did go to the trouble to find out the name and address of one lowly emailer it means he really cares and we can begin exchanging Christmas cards this year. What began as a simple troll email has turned out to be quite enlightening. I've discovered quite a bit about our Otto because of it. None of it good. So that's about it. Otto has his soapbox where he can say and slant things any way he wants so I thought since I'll never be given a voice there I'd respond here instead where many of his subscribers and even the Great Ego himself will likely see it.
