The parties are not close clubs. Anyone who meets the edibility requirements can run for the nomination of the Republicans or Democrats for a seat.

Abarr will probably get nowhere. If he gets elected, and the Republicans give him a leadership position, like the Democrats gave Byrd, get back to me.
