You make a very good point. If all the major deals are cut, there is not much the new CEO can do. In that instance, who would want the job? If he/she can't call the mojor shots going forward, he/she has all the responsibility (blame) and none of the authority. That, by definition, is a lousy deal. The announcement of new products doesn't conflict with that, although the CompUsa and Apple Web Store announcements may limit his/her manoeuverability. Probably unavoidable.
We shall overcome.
