Actually, they say the machine averages 150 bags per hour. I assume this is based on the testings being performed at Atlanta & S.F., which translates to about 24 sec. per bag. Again, my original intention was for the machine to be used in conjunction with profiling. Meaning, not every bags are scanned, only the high-risk passenger as I.D. by profiling. This, I assume, would be done at the check in counter. Meaning, not all passengers will arrive at the same time. Also, not all flights should be subjected, mainly the international ones. The bottom line is, they do this at other international airports in other parts of the world. Why does the U.S. have to lag behind? And do we want to pay the price for being behind? Personnally, I would not mind paying the proposed extra $4 tax to help cover the cost. It's a matter of pay now, or pay later. However, your point is well taken. Go INVN. |
