Many US states do have serious financial problems, but unlike Europe the USA has a much greater "critical mass" because of the way we're organized at a federal level. So Haim's comparisons between US states and individual European countries are of limited value. The USA doesn't have to worry about individual states dropping out of the USD. ;)
