I am not a fan of the uninstall feature, as it never uninstalls everything.
So I would image the drive, then try out the game demo or software, if I didn't like it, I would restore an image to bring the computer back to the original state before the software was installed.
I started using imaging software in 1999. Back then it was Powerquest Drive Image, unfortunately Symanetc took them over and wrecked it.
Have restored well over 100 images, with this XP box mainly due to game demos I downloaded and tried and other software and experiments. I use to be an avid gamer.
I have never had problems restoring images, the only time I had a problem was first week of January 2010, I had 2 failed restored images on my XP desktop and notebook days apart. They passed validation, yet last week of 2009 images restored fine, it was the only time I had failed restores and I called it the Y2010 bug. That was with True Image v10. I restored the last week of 2009 images and then bought the newest version of True Image and retired version 10.
I upgraded to True Image 2010 and never had a problem on my XP machines since then.
Why do you say this can cause you problems? With my track record, it proves restoring images is a very good method of restoring your computer. |
