It's not a 'planned house of cards' -- it's just a house of cards. Without printing, it sinks, plain and simple. And without printing, we would have our economy killed through a spike in interest rates.

But it takes a little while for that to happen. The house of cards will shake a few stories off to provide political cover for the next printing phase. They are probably consulting with GS for how to fool the sheeple about the next round of outright printing. If you remember, QE1 was printing (according to The Bernank) but QE2 was not printing (according to The Bernank, although he was a bit wild-eyed at the time). QE3 will likely be one step further removed from reality in the public image they shovel at us, if that's possible.
