Gee, I'll have a tough time responding to all of my fans...
So I'll speak to Dr. Niman directly. I believe you have provided a service to those on this thread with the background to discern sound research.
I joined SI about 6 weeks ago soon after learning that my father had Parkinson's disease (at a stage similar to that of Janet Reno). In fact, my dad sprang for the $75 to enter. We all felt that SI may provide an additional avenue to gain knowledge of the state of treatment. Since I had observed SI prior to this time, I was aware of the 'bash' thread and was impressed with Dr. Dale's efforts to maintain a multifaceted dialog. In fact, I felt and continue to feel that the bash thread was the liveliest and most interesting biotech thread on SI - just the sort of site where people from various backgrounds could discuss MANY DIFFERENT COMPANIES. This sort of forum was just the venue for myself and my family to gain additional insight towards Parkinson's. We are also screening other, more obvious sources.
Your appearance and presence on that thread was nothing short of disruptive. Dr. Dale asked you to stop making multiple posts and you ignored him. He apparently gave up trying to deal with you and, hence, the thread. His 'personal attacks' were a response not only to your countless posts but to your belligerence towards changing your behavior. I'm sure you will have a response to this, that, in your heart of hearts, you believe is true: that is you are not responsible for the demise on that thread. So be it.
Dr. Niman, I've taken a lot of heat on this thread for the posts I've made. In addition, you've called Dr. Dale names for confronting you with your behavior on the Bash thread. So, I have some questions for you that should have surfaced long ago in view of the 11,000 posts here. To be frank, I think many of the posters here are scared of you. I'm sure to gather additional heat for that one but I challenge anyone on this thread to ask questions such as:
1) What is your relationship with Ligand? You are constantly referring to inside sources: how were you able to gain access to these sources and why do they supply you with this information? If you are not more closely related to the company that the average investor, you should be able to tell us your sources.
2) How is it possible that you are a full professor and you spend most everyday, during working hours, on SI, making posts? I realize this is forthright but its an obvious question. How do you get any work done? I do this surfing stuff at odd moments or when I'm completely exhausted but you seem to online all the time. It simply strikes me as odd that you have the time to make so many posts.
I will be unable to respond until at least midweek. CW |
