The latest edge of knowledge (June Scientific American) idea is that we have underestimated the importantance of quantum entanglement. Einstein called is "spooky action at a distance".

Science knows that if you entangle two particles and then separate them, they can communicate instantaneously over any distance. But science thought that only dealt with small things. Today they know it involves large objects as well.

So now there is speculation this constant entanglement may be creating what we now call gravity and gravity many be nothing more than the energy of quantum entanglement of large masses.

For those who do not know, heretofore, science thought big things obeyed Einsteins theory of relativity and small things quantum theory.

I have felt for many years, that relativity was nothing more than a part of quantum theory. This idea seems to now be gaining acceptance in the world of physics.
