No, the oddlot short sales people typically are WRONG at the very BOTTOM.

I guess I was right the first time and I was nuts when I corrected myself.

That is, smart short sellers can short an oddlot on a downtick or at least avoid the uptick rule.

Back in 1974 the oddlotters came in heavy as buyers not long after the very bottom.

Whereas at, or shortly before, the very bottom you had the really pathetic people who had gone long at the top coming in to sell short at the bottom.

I hope I have got up and down straight this time.

I just think oddlot short sales are more of an indicator at long-term bottoms. We are still not far from the top.

But we will see.

Meantime I think I'll see if there are any surplus auto-horizon instruments for sale so I can keep up and down straight.
