You are indeed a wonderful story teller, MM! The Full Monty had to be just a kick in the pants (so to speak) <ggg> I'm glad your wife and friends had such a wonderful time....we all need to do things like that once in a while! Laughter is a GREAT Thing!
We spent the last couple of hours watching the PBS special on the 1950's music...They had some of the older stars like Nat King Cole on tape, and some of the old groups, like the Platters, and the Brothers 4, etc, with older folks but not necessarily all the original groups. BUT, I must say, the groups ALL sounded so much better than most of the clap/trap/boom/bang stuff we hear today, that it seemed more like home than it has in some time.
Interesting too....the various groups pretty much kept up with their original type of dress and atmosphere...."The Duprees" were wonderful and quite formal in a new way, and the Brothers 4 (new version probably of the 1970's/80's) were casual, but I did notice their shoes were all shined, their shirts were clean, and their slacks were slacks....nothing tonight looked like it had been through the 3drd World War....not even the people!
If you get a chance to see the show if it replays, do so...it's worth it!
and LOL....your watering hole is your refrig door....<ggg> |
