John,

Do you think the waves are the normal flow of the emotions of people or the reaction to changes/events in the normal flow of problem solutions.

Put another way - for an up wave to begin does there need to be some event or catalyst to make it happen or does it just happen with the normal ebb and flow of human emotions?

For instance, if Libya was resolved tomorrow I would think an up wave would start. If a quality long range budget deal were reached I would think an up wave would start. Similarly, there are numerous events that could trigger a down wave. If these events are not part of a normal wave of human emotions - I would think the whole game changes.

Another way of saying it is a trend stays in place until it does not. Within the trend I would think the waves work. When some event changes the trend - a whole new trend starts.

Personally I am looking for a trend change event to get things moving in a positive fashion.

Bob
