After a long battle with leukemia, our very good friend Wayne Sharpe died this morning at 12:24. Wayne was born 66 yrs ago on a farm in Canada, and when the Vietnam war heated up he did a remarkable thing...........he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and went on to serve our country for 4 years. He ended up in the sniper corp and went on many harrowing assignments during his service to our country.

Wayne was married to Cynthia and she was his shining light. They were married at ST. Jude Catholic Church in Redmond Washington on Oct. 9, 1999. They were a perfect pair, and Cynthia's unbounded faith in Jesus Christ sustained both she and Wayne during his struggle.

During his last days at the VA hospital in Gainsville Fl. Cynthia wrote to friends and family on a daily basis so that we could remain informed.

From Cynthia June 8:

One of Wayne's favorite tunes is the one Jack Nicholson played on the piano and sang to the dog he was dog-sitting for in the movie, As Good As It Gets: "Always look on the bright side of life." Wayne would often remind me of that song when I'd worry about something or other. So, it's nice for me to remember it now. I feel better already.

This was Wayne!

We have never met a man with such a huge sense of humor or one so kind and giving as Wayne.

He will truly be missed.

God speed dear Wayne.
