I'm definitely in the optimistic crowd for Monday's action. As I write this, HK is already UP 5.28%, and the Nikkei is up 5.78%! If you buy the notion that the trouble in HK was partially responsible for the recent downdraft in the LatAm markets (which I do), then this is definitely good news. It is possible that we may see the "Mother of all Covering Rallies" in LatAm issues if HK can put in a credible bottom by rebounding strongly.

The S&P contract (on Globex) is now up 510, which means an up open in the US. The techs may also get a serious shot of adrenaline from the HK bounce since sagging Asian demand was the initial excuse for selling them down.

Keep your seatbelts fastened, gentlemen!
Aaron
