$14 trillion for 300 million Americans <Debt levels rose quickly in the following decade, and on January 28, 2010, the US debt ceiling was raised to $14.3 trillion dollars.> = $14 million for 300 = $140,000 for 3 = $50,000 per American, which at 5% interest rate is only $5,000 per year which with a $40,000 GDP per person is not a huge proportion though it is very noticeable.
