In Montana, there is at least one tree that grew around a bighorn ram's skull. The one I know about is called "The Medicine Tree". It was first described by Alexander Ross in 1824 and has been revered for centuries by Native Americans of many tribes and others.

It's dead now and there's only about 12 feet of it left, but to this day people are still leaving 'gifts.' I left a .30-40 Krag round.

Plenty of Bighorns in the area. The F&G had to cull the diseased ones out because they're picking up brucillosis.

PS, I may go visit the Medicine Tree on my trip to Montana. I leave tomorrow.
