What I was referring to was the reference you made about how in Greece they substituted drinking hemlock to burning at the stake. You didn't seem to complete the thought. I did not know what your were driving at?

Hemlock would seem to be a more humane death?

Talking about ideas is never pedantic.

When one concentrates on form over substance, or uses it to obfuscate is pedantic.

As far as misanthropy goes, I just see it as the human condition. we are, after all, evolved from wild animals.
