Good question. I think it would be fair to say that PA is less defensive now than before the purchase of Oppenheimer. But, for me, I still intend to hold the stock. The yield is excellent and will do much to support the stock in a general downturn. I personally see bond yields dropping or staying in neutral here--supportive to the majority of the holdings of PA, Oppenheimer included. And the upside is still there and perhaps even greater down the road with the addition of oppenheimer expertise. (They could teach the PA equity side a thing or two.)
One more thing. On a short term note, the stock has held up pretty well on recent attempts to sell it off. I've noticed buyers come right back in and bid the stock up. Wish I had more to add to help you. Dog
