There may come a day when solar is a major contributor for a few hours a day. But what good is it if it isn't available on demand? Can utilities reduce their generating capability for peak hours? Will it ACTUALLY reduce the number of gas-fired, hydro, or nuclear plants we have to have? No, not in a significant way. And not anytime soon.

Those who want to do it, go for it -- even if they're overpriced eyesores.

One of the problems with many liberals is that they are irrational about these things. Solar power as it is today has a significant ecological downside (if nothing else, the eyesore aspect).
