Fred F, Seem's that what you define as the low end of the business is the bulk of Intel's business. As an investor, that's the business I'm most interested in. IMO most business and consumer boxes fall into your low end category. I also think the value of this thread is to provide contrarion opinions. There are plenty of cheerleaders, and we love them all, but I like to keep it balanced. I also agree with the post that indicated Compaq may be using AMD as a lever. But that in itself creates commodity pressures on Intel.
As for AMD, fortunately I got wind of the production problems and stayed out :-)
But the market trends are making it more attractive to me. As always, I appreciate your comments.
