MMI 101 . Understandably there is a lot of confusion around MMI testing and what it can do .

Before a test is run the company does a small patch test for background , depth for best reading and sample over a suspected mineral zone . This is what we might call a tune up in a lot of other activities .

Tests are done on one set spacing . If the data comes back to show areas of interest we may run a " 2nd phase " at closer spaced intervals to zero in on the zone . That is go from 100 yard spacings down to 20 yard . You might also do a 2nd phase when a hard and soft layer meet at the optimal test sample depth . Or more likely a patch test first .

The ions seem to be controlled by more than one factor but their level has much to do with atmospheric pressure and so they stop at the same level in that location what ever the soil type might be .

One day befoe PDAC starts SGS has a free seminar for anyone interested in MMI . Talk to Matthew Halliday at SGS to register say sometime in Feb 2012 .

Maybe some one could add to this or have other questions .

Cheers !
