How smart is opening the SPR? Once opened, it can't be closed. Not that that is a bad thing in the long run. The SPR should never have been created in the first place. The killer will be seen though when SPR oil increases world appetite for oil and eventually, world crude price! How's that? Another OPEC emergency meeting will be called at which the Saudis will succumb to their brother Arab demands for a reduction of crude supplied at 10x the SPR pump rate!! So how smart is DM? Incredibly stupid, but given that Americans are dumber than him, the whole episode should make him look good, at least at first.
