Exactly, Dave. Did you read where some new Volt owners were racking up 1000 miles before actually USING any gas? In my local travels, I NEVER go over 20 miles, let alone 40. For close destinations where I don't need to haul stuff I use a bicycle.

My problem with any all-electric car is that the day you DO run the battery dry or forget to plug it in, it becomes an immobile lump. And, that day WILL come. It's why an all electric car can ONLY be a second car, at best, with our current state of technology.
