In June 2011, Rolling Stone editor Eric Bates admitted to deleting several attributions to another reporters work Taibbi had included in an article on presidential candidate Michele Bachmann. Taibbi's article relied heavily on the reporting of G.R. Anderson Jr. of City Pages, Taibbi said, but his executive editor Eric Bates removed them citing "space concerns". The online copy of the article was amended to include reference to Anderson's research. Anderson regarded the incident as neither controversial or as a case of plagiarism.[19]
