"I don't follow the Greek situation very closely, but it is possible that some privatization may not be a bad thing."

It bears watching very, very closely. It is the possible fuse.

Privatization on the scale suggested nearly ruined Russia, and look at the result now. The best assets Greece has to offer will be sold for pennies on the dollar. It is tantamount to looting and pillaging after a war, all to protect bondholders and the possible blow up of derivatives

I do hope the Greek legislature says "no" but it is very doubtful.

Greece is a mess and the numbers show it is going to default sometime anyway, so why the charade? The bondholders took on risk, let them enjoy it.
