SAN DIEGO, CA, Jun 29, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- LRAD Corporation (LRAD, Trade ), the world's leading provider of acoustic hailing devices (AHDs), announced today it has received an opening LRAD systems order from Israel's Ministry of Defense. The initial $293,000 order for LRAD 100X and 500X systems will ship this quarter.

The Company's proprietary LRAD 100X and 500X systems clearly broadcast hails, warnings, commands and instructions with 100% intelligibility in multiple languages up to distances of 1 km. Through the use of highly intelligible voice commands and powerful deterrent tones, LRAD creates increased standoff and safety zones, determines intent, supports peaceful conflict resolution, and potentially saves lives on both sides of the device.

"We continue to grow our international business with countries deploying LRAD for use by their military and law enforcement services," stated Tom Brown, president and CEO of LRAD Corporation. "To date, over 30 nations from around the world have purchased our Long Range Acoustic Device(R) systems."
