Shares of Chinese car and battery maker BYD Co. (BYDDY, Trade ) soared on their debut in Shenzhen, finishing at 25.45 yuan ($3.92), compared with an initial public offering at 18 yuan. The company's Hong Kong-listed stock, which fell 5% Wednesday after reporting disappointing results, more than recovered those losses to end 5.7% higher.
