Berniece was very disappointed that she didn't get to be on a jury. Meanwhile, being a lesser person than Berniece, I said to myself "Yippee" when the judge dismissed us.

Berniece told me about taking a bus to a job that she had, and she seemed otherwise to be having a relatively normal life.

In a way, it is too bad that the trial did not go forth.
