My grand parent came from Russia, they didn't speak English, when I was a small child we were poor and were certainly eligible for food stamps or some kind of government assistance, but my father never once fell into that trap, he said it was beneath his dignity to take a hand out from anyone, he just worked several jobs with his 6th grade education and elevated himself and his family out of the slums of New York on his own... my grand parents believed in America and my parents believed in the American work ethic, they set an excellent example and they taught me to think for myself and to be my own master... GZ
