Disk drive stocks are very weak in a red-hot day in the tech sector. Quantum is actually down with the NASDAQ up 30 points. Friday's rally--short covering? That's my guess. The story in disk drives is decidedly negative presently. I'm not sure why folks like these stocks in the face of increasing competition and falling margins. I think we'll see more earnings surprises to the down side over the next few quarters. I guess if the DDs turn around earnings-wise, bottom-fishers at these levels will look like geniuses. Personally, I'd cast my line in another pond. -Shane
