They're probably in a state of shock. Either that, or they've just run out of stuff to say.

>>What suburb do you live in?

Sugar Land (Fort Bend County). I work in Houston - about a 30 minute drive during non-rush hours. The suburbs are thriving at all points around the city, but as a result the "inner city" is spreading. THere are still pockets of very nice areas inside the loop - River Oaks, Memorial, West University, Bellaire, and a few others, but dirt is very expensive in those areas, whereas you can get twice the house for half the money if you go to a suburb. It's still one big metropolitan area, since every part of the city is quite accessible from every other part.

Our house is really quite modest, but relatives visiting from the northeast and the west coast think it's a mansion. Little do they know how affordable housing is here.
