Why should republicans say yes? Obama screwed up the health care negotiations, leading to a gutted health care bill and a republican takeover of Congress. He allowed an extension of the Bush tax cuts, claiming that it was the only way to extend unemployment benefits. Now it sure looks like he's screwing up the budget/debt ceiling talks.

It's getting late. Unless Obama shows some backbone and leadership very soon he's toast.

At this point it's starting to look like a moderate republican would better serve the nation than a right wing democrat, which is what Obama is starting to look like.

Republicans have achieved everything they might have imagined at the beginning of the process and more. Yet they still refuse even the smallest of compromises to accept victory.
